Meet new MCP-Elect Lydia Edwards

The new MCP for AIESEC US is quite busy these days. She shared information about herself and her platform (see all of it here from International Presidents' meeting in Bucharest, Romania.

Who is Lydia?

Lydia is from Los Angeles, California and joined AIESEC San Luis Obispo in 2014 as a member of iGEGT and then was elected LCP in 2015.  After this she served a term as National Support team for AIESEC United States, did a CEED in Bogota, Colombia, and served as the Vice President of Organizational Development for AIESEC United States in 2016-2017.  She is currently living in Lima, Peru as the Vice President of Organizational Development for AIESEC in Peru. She applied for this position even though she did not speak Spanish!  Lydia has been lucky enough to travel to over 10 countries to represent AIESEC at various conferences, including two Regional Conferences and two International Congresses.

Lydia believes in the impact that AIESEC United States in 2018-19 can have domestically, across the world, and across future generations and ran on the platform of "Actions that Echo".  She believes that AIESEC US can and will become globally relevant in exchange in the next year along with ensuring healthy membership and sustainable, high performing LCs.

How can AIESEC alumni contribute to that?

Lydia would love to see the Mentorship program continue as she was lucky enough to have an amazing alum as a mentor (Michele Trickey, MCP 2011) while she was LCP and alumni have supported her throughout her AIESEC career every step of the way.  Beyond supporting the development of AIESEC members Lydia would also really love to see more alumni become involved with nearby LCs and help connect them to opportunities or people that could boost their exchange numbers, health, and sustainability.

Congratulations to Lydia on an amazing application and platform that will carry her into the next year as MCP. We look forward to seeing the rest of your team and the impact she will have in years to come for AIESEC.
