Each summer, AIESEC Life holds its annual Founders Circle Retreat where our board of directors, team members and some special guests gather for a weekend of discussion, reflection, planning and good old-fashioned AIESEC fun.  This year was no exception as our group gathered at the rustic Gold Hill Inn, in picturesque Gold Hill, CO.

We kicked off the weekend with a lively get together at Denver’s Avanti F&B with the AIESEC Life CO hub team and local alumni.  From Denver, we headed up to the 160-year old gold rush town where we took over the historic Bluebird Lodge and quickly settled in, enjoying all of its quaint and quirky features, beautiful vistas and local wildlife.

Like all AIESEC gatherings, we balanced 2 full days with hard work and local fun. Business highlights included our quarterly board meeting, a lively critical design thinking session and several breakout sessions where we discussed membership development and received an update on the state of AIESEC US.  In 2018, AIESEC Life hit an important achievement -- our 10-year anniversary as a strong and thriving alumni organization. With this milestone as our backdrop, we acknowledged that this is our time to ensure we build on the strong foundation that exists and accept the responsibility to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the vital services we provide to alumni, AIESEC US, and current LC members.

Did someone mention fun?  Gold Hill is located just 10 miles above Boulder, CO so we headed down the mountain to enjoy some classic, quintessential Boulder sights including a ride on Banjo Billy’s Brewery Bus Tour and an afternoon of live music, good food and drink at the Rayback Collective.  Not to be outdone, the tiny town of Gold Hill has its own resident bar and dining hall that features fantastic food, where we enjoyed some rocking music with the locals.  Ending each evening under the brilliant Colorado starry skies was definitely a highlight for all retreat attendees.

We are looking forward to inviting new friends and seeing familiar faces at our 2019 retreat.  We plan to convene in Montreal, Canada in July 2019 where we hope to connect with our fellow AIESEC Canada alumni and check-in on the AIESEC International team and their new office in Montreal.  Skol!
